The Sovereign Handbook
Complete, plain-language documentation for both Kโ12 schools and collegiate institutions โ how the clinic track works, how league competition and departmental budgeting work, and how performers are developed. Every document below is print-ready and may be shared freely with directors, students, parents, technology departments, and institutional finance offices.
Student Data Security & Compliance โ read it first
FERPA School Official designation, CIPA/COPPA alignment, TLS 1.3 and AES-256 encryption, and a 30/60-day cryptographic purge SLA. No account or onboarding step required to review it.
Kโ12 Schools & Districts
Clinic-guest track โ no charter fee, no league obligation, no performance to prepare.
The Kโ12 Director Brochure
What VB-CAF 27 is, why your program attends as a clinic guest rather than a competing ensemble, what the day looks like for your scholars, and why nothing is owed when you register interest.
The Future Legends Academy Guide
What lifetime Future Legends standing includes, how young scholars are developed and measured, and what families are ever asked to pay (nothing beyond clinic attendance).
Collegiate Institutions
Chartered league track โ departmental ledger, sanctioned competition, and procurement authority.
The Institutional Director's Charter
How the departmental account works, why performers pay $0, how NACPA funds stay separated from commercial activity, and exactly what to hand your bursar for audit.
Service Procurement Guide
Step-by-step procure-and-pay flow, the full service catalog, the authorization gate that prevents unfunded obligations, and reporting cadence.
Every Level
Shared foundation for all performers and families, regardless of level.
User Manual โ WOODSHED & Triad of Agency
Step-by-step, plain-language instructions for practicing in WOODSHED and completing the Triad of Student Agency.
The Performer's Manual โ Triad of Student Agency
The three pillars explained plainly, what GNN scoring is and is not, what your Musical DNA record means, and what participation costs you (nothing).
The WOODSHED by APOLLO โ Practice Platform
The proprietary practice sandbox: tiered level highway, live pitch, rhythm, and tone scoring, director-uploaded sheet music, ensemble room, and Click Lab. Browser-native on devices students already own โ no headset, no lab, no purchase. Owned by the Benefit Corporation and licensed to our charities.
The Cognitive Curriculum โ Triad Coursework
The pedagogical companion to the practice platform: Performance Mindset, The Artistโs Code, and the Community Contract delivered as structured coursework alongside instrumental development.
Distributing These Documents
Open any document and use Print / Save PDF to produce a clean physical packet โ headers, tables, and page breaks are already formatted for 8.5ร11. For onboarding packets, pair the printed Charter with the QR inserts so recipients can reach the live version at any time.
How these entities and platforms relate
J M McMillan Enterprises, Inc. is a Virginia Benefit Corporation and the parent of this ecosystem. It does business publicly as the Viable Arts Alliance โ the name you see across this platform.
Two independent 501(c)(3) public charities operate under that umbrella: the Sound Achievement Foundation (SAF), which backs Future Legends and the Triad of Student Agency, and the National Alliance and Coalition for Performing Arts (NACPA), which governs sanctioned competition. Charitable funds are accounted for separately from commercial activity.
The WOODSHED by APOLLO practice platform, the APOLLO GNN adjudication engine, and the Triad cognitive curriculum are proprietary technology owned by the Benefit Corporation and licensed for use by the charities. That is why a public-charity program can deliver enterprise-grade instructional technology at no cost to a student: the parent company builds it, and the charities are entitled to use it.
We disclose this arrangement openly to every district, university, funder, and family. Nothing here is hidden, and questions about the structure are welcome at viablearts@viableartsllc.com.
